Why We Built This Site
Kansas gives the public broad access to many records, but Butler County uses several record channels. The Clerk of the District Court handles district court case files for criminal, civil, domestic, probate, juvenile, small claims, and traffic matters filed in district court. Municipal courts in El Dorado, Augusta, Andover, and Rose Hill handle city ordinance, traffic, nuisance, animal control, and many municipal misdemeanor cases. The Sheriff's Office handles jail and warrant information, while the County Clerk and Register of Deeds keep county administrative and land records.

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. In Butler County, court-certified copies must come from the Clerk of the District Court or the issuing court office.
